The Centre for Advanced Training at DanceEast

In 2018, to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of DanceEast’s Centre for Advanced Training (CAT), the Jasmin Vardimon Company were specially commissioned to create a 60-minute work, incorporating the full CAT cohort of 84 young students. The new piece, titled ‘Park Road’ took Jasmin’s acclaimed work PARK as it’s starting point. Led by Company dancers, original material was developed through the creative process used by Jasmin to explore themes and characters. The final piece was presented to large audiences, receiving great praise.

Daniel Cooley, CAT Manager at DanceEast says “As with every year, we aim to push the boundaries of excellence in our educational and artistic ambition as a Centre for Advanced Training programme, and with it being our 10th Anniversary we wanted to celebrate this with a unique and special performance commission. We’re thrilled to be working with artists from Jasmin Vardimon Company, and cannot wait to see our students in this never before seen work!”
