NEW Pinocchio digital resource coming soon!

As part of our mission to develop education within the performing arts, we are preparing a digital resource, which will be released during early 2018!

Perfect for GCSE, A-Level and Higher Education students, this digital resource will present the Creative Minds Symposium, held at Sadler’s Wells, London in October 2017.  Nine contemporary thinkers were invited from various disciplines and backgrounds to analyse the performance of Pinocchio, followed by audience contributions through a Q&A at the end of the session.

This resource provides a deep insight into possible interpretations, whilst focusing on the key themes within this classic fairytale. In order to encourage students to develop their own understanding, the discussion will be accompanied by rarely seen rehearsal footage and recorded sections of the performance.  Combine this with the Free Education Pack and the Pinocchio DVD/USB for a complete and diverse package of educational tools.

We are also currently offering a 10% discount on Pinocchio workshops, for those who download the education pack and book their workshop before 31st March 2018.

The Creative Minds Symposium will be available to view online from early next year, so keep an eye on our website for more details, in the meantime if you have any queries or would like more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Pinocchio in Norway – now on sale!

We are delighted to announce that Jasmin Vardimon Company’s Pinocchio is heading to Stavanger konserthus, Norway in March 2018!

Based on the original book by Collodi and performed by Vardimon’s multi-talented dancers, Pinocchio will bring to life the famous marionette as he embarks on a fantastic journey to become a human boy.

Showcasing Vardimon’s uniquely theatrical choreographic and directorial style, Pinocchio will combine physical theatre, quirky characterisation, innovative technologies, text and dance to examine the idea of what it means to be human.

With insightful humour, engaging drama and an acute observation of behaviour Pinocchio will take audiences on a wonderful journey of discovery through the parameters of this timeless and beloved fable.

Tickets are now available and can be booked here.

In conversation with Geoffrey Colman (Head of Acting at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama), acclaimed choreographer Jasmin Vardimon and Libby Worth, Senior Lecturer in Theatre Practice at The Royal Holloway University of London, discuss the work with author and subject. Together they share their insights into the pair’s collaboration and the complex writing process they undertook to bring the book to fruition. They also discuss Vardimon’s vibrant, evolving choreographic practice from the seeds of an idea through to the completion of a work. What emerges is a lively and multi-layered reflection on the devising and training processes of a choreographer in the midst of her practice.

A leading force in British dance theatre for nearly twenty years, Jasmin Vardimon has built a reputation for challenging, exciting and visually stunning dance. Formed in 1997, Jasmin Vardimon Company enjoys critical acclaim and sell-out performances all over the world.

Libby Worth is a movement practitioner and scholar with research interests in dance theatre, site specific performance and performer training.

In addition to his work at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Geoffrey Colman has worked alongside Vardimon as acting coach on her works Justitia, Park and Pinocchio.

This new book provides an excellent addition to the educational resources available from the company suitable for students, teachers and practitioners.
