In Spring 2026, talented young people from Ashford, Kent took part in a day of composition, choreography and creative collaboration as part of Create in a Day. Working with music tutors from Kent Music and dance tutors from Jasmin Vardimon Company, participants explored the theme of Pinocchio, using it as inspiration for both movement and music.
Students from several of our Associate Schools worked together throughout the day, experimenting with ideas and responding to each other’s creative processes. Dancers responded to sound while musicians developed their compositions in dialogue with the movement being created, resulting in a dynamic shared experience.
After just a few hours of creative development, the participants presented their collaborative work in our purpose-built dance space at JV H.O.M.E.
